I need to decide what to do.
My plan is to leave Utah in August and go... somewhere. Wherever I go, I have to work for a year to gain residency and pay in-state tuition.
I've wanted to go back to Orlando and work and go to school at UCF. I figured everything out as far as moving and paying for things etc.
I also want to go to Maryland and work and go to school at Goucher College.
I could always go back to Dixie. ...Or not
I love Orlando. I love the weather, I love the atmosphere, I love being near the ocean.
If I move to Orlando I could get $9.15 an hour as a face character performer at Disney. If they even take me. I'd get about the same working at Starbucks. Plus I'd be paying about $400 a month plus utilities and internet for rent. My chances of Getting into UCF are iffy anyway... my ACT score wasn't the best. It's the same with most of the colleges in Florida. So I could be wasting time in Orlando gaining residency for schools that I may not even get into.
Suddenly Erika suggests I move to Maryland. Her mom offers me a job at Johns Hopkins Hospital that pays $25 an hour and a room in her house without paying rent. And Goucher. It looks amazing. Yeah, it's expensive. But it's a prestigious performing arts college. They also require that you study abroad for at least a semester and they help you pay for it. And my grades and ACT scores are average for the majority of admitted students! I'm actually excited to go there, as opposed to UCF... where I'd just would be going for the sake of going.
Maybe. Maybe I could go to Orlando next summer. And just work for the summer. And go back to Maryland.
UGH.
The problem is, I've already promised Britt we'd go to Orlando in August.
uuuggggggghhhhhh.
I want to take Britt with me to Maryland. But I'm nervous to ask Erika's mom any more favors. She's already offering me so much for free. An awesome job and free rent? And I'm sure Debbie doesn't want to be a college dorm for three girls. Four including her other daughter.
...ugh.
