this is for those of you who are worried

about me moving to Baltimore because of crime rates and earthquakes and hurricanes and the rapture etc

Well, I made it!
For those of you who want to send housewarming gifts, chocolate, money etc, just ask and I will gladly give you the new address.
I live in the lovely town of Rosedale, MD, just on the outskirts of Baltimore and Towson. I got here on Wednesday.

I highly doubt I'll get shot or raped or kidnapped or anything. Relax.
Rosedale is a lot like Murray, Utah, only with more black people.
A lot more black people.
The distance from Rosedale to downtown Baltimore is about the same distance as Murray is from downtown Salt Lake.
It's quite lovely. Lots of trees and houses that look like they were taken from Hyde Park or Smithfield, Utah. But there are a lot more stores and places of interest nearby.
Erika and her family warmly welcomed me into their home and had a room all ready for me, with purple walls and white furniture- including an incredibly comfortable full sized bed with purple sheets and a slate colored comforter. And cute Ikea lamps.
They have a dog (Boomer) and three cats (Gidget, Mittens and... the cat that never comes upstairs from the basement), and Gidget is preggo and about to give birth at any given moment. Stoked on having kittehs running around the house. :)

I start work as a CPR/Basic Life Instructor on Monday of next week. Erika and I have mirrored schedules so she can train me and show me the ropes. :)

As far as this weekend's hurricane, This morning we took down the canopy thing on the deck and tied and drilled everything securely to the ground. It's supposed to be between a level two and one hurricane by the time it gets to us (more on the level one side), so basically it'll just be a lot of rain and 75 mph winds. We got a lot of non-perishable food items, games and other such items at Target today in case the power goes out. They say to prepare for 72 hours without power. So... we're stoked on that.
Erika says that every time they threaten a hurricane it never really happens. It turns into a tropical storm by the time it hits us and it's no big deal.

So that's that in a nutshell. Everyone can calm down. And I carry a knife so I'm not without weaponry.
love you all.
