I met with an acting/modeling agency called UrbanTalent last Tuesday.
www.urbantalent.com.
They had me do a cold read of a script and they told me that they definitely want to represent me. They say I have the face and the natural ability and talent to go far.
They're the largest talent agency in Utah and the only one that works nationally and internationally. They also said that they don't charge me a penny unless I make something from working with them.
Anyway, they want me to get more film acting experience under my belt before they start getting my name out there. They want me to participate in the Professional Actor's Workshop-- a 10-week course taught by Lance Williams and Tip Boxell, who were the producers of Charly, among other films. Only problem is, the total cost for the workshop is $900. I told the lady that I'd be interested in starting the next 10-week course, in 8 weeks. That gives me time to think about it and look into it. It's totally legit, I've looked it all up on imdb.com and everything... But what an investment. Then again it'd look awesome on a resume.
They say that Utah is in the running for 11 new films and 5 new television shows.
Anyway... remember how my headlight is broken? Scotty says that he's going to fix it for me. What a relief. In a shop it would probably cost me upwards of $60, but if Scotty's doing it for me it'll be more like $20. He is such a godsend. I've kind of noticed lately that I've taken advantage of having him around the past couple of years. He treats me and my mother like gold. I don't exactly want to go on, and believe me, I could, but I'm afraid it would seem like I'm writing out of obligation. But I truly am grateful for him and I worry for the state of mine and my mom's cars while he's gone. :)
