So... Costuming! ... not the MOST exciting job out there, but hey, it puts me in Florida. Am I right? I looked up the duties and responsibilities of one who works with costumes on the Disney College Program website. It said:
"Backstage Roles.
These roles are 'backstage' and provide minimal to no Guest interaction.
Costuming
Responsibilities may include:
* Issuing costumes to fellow Cast Members throughout Operations and Entertainment Locations
* Operating a computerized costume checkout system
* Working around performers in various stages of dress
* Operating basic laundry equipment
* Repetitive overhead reaching, bending, and heavy lifting
* Moving heavy costumes from location to location
* Handling and laundering soiled garments
* Standing for extended periods, working outdoors
* Working independently, with minimal to no Guest interaction."
Sounds like a PARTY! ... I think. It'll definitely look good on a resume though... That's for sure.
I still have a chance at being a performer though, it sounds like.
"During the interview, you indicated that you plan to attend an Entertainment audition, but would also like to be considered for other roles.
Please respond to this invitation to participate as a Costuming Cast Member within the appropriate timeframe, and if you are selected for a Character Performer role at the audition, you will be contacted and moved to that new role."
Like I said before, I mean, If I did say it before, the final word comes on or before April 30th. So there's still a chance.
I have very mixed feelings about this-- I wonder. Could I change the time that I'm there from Fall advantage (Summer and Fall semesters) to just the Fall program? That way I could take the summer job in either California or Tennessee and still go to Florida.
Other thoughts-
I ruined a costume today... Monica wasn't too happy with me and she kind of told off the entire cast...
See my bikini? It's just the right size.
I kind of feel like I have my mask from the show still on my head... like the ghost of it is still perched there. Goes to show you how much we wear them. I wonder if this is what it's like to have an amputated limb.
Well.... I got alot of thinking to do... Some decisions to make and some and some hearts to break. Goodnight!

HOLY COW! I am so excited for you! Don't pass up an opportunity to work for Disney, even if it isn't the job you desire. It will more than likely get your foot in the door to a performing opportunity. We can talk later. Don't take the California door to door sales job when you can go to the Happiest Place on Earth! You will NEVER regret taking a Disney job.
