I started this post with the intention of talking about the world without religion. Really... life would be so much easier if we all weren't so worried about our "salvation," and mankind wouldn't fight nearly as much (not to mention we'd be much more advanced in the ways of knowledge and technology...)
So then came to my mind the words, "Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try... no hell below us, above us only sky..."
So then I began to think, what if we really could live without all of the things Lennon mentioned in his song that split us up? If we could live in unity... Now I'm not saying that we should revert to communism... but wouldn't it be nice if we could all just... get along?
So I guess what I'm saying is, I could definitely live without the way the world lives in an un-unified way. Is that a word? Or, does that even make sense?
(link to the song)
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
